Three Brighton & Hove Albion stars have been ruled out of this weekend’s Premier League match with Nottingham Forest.
Manager Fabian Hürzeler gave his team news update during a press conference with the media. They travel to the City Ground on Saturday, with kick-off at 12.30pm.
The German has confirmed Solly March, Mats Wieffer and Pervis Estupinan will miss the Forest game due to injury. While young striker Evan Ferguson could make his long-awaited return to action.
Hürzeler said: “I don’t think [March, Wieffer and Estupinan] are available. It doesn’t look good [for the weekend].
“[Evan Ferguson] trained for the first time yesterday, he’s in good shape and we are very happy that he’s back in our squad. I think if everything goes well with the last training sessions then for sure he will be an option.”
Injuries are affecting both camps, however, with Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi missing a second successive game for the Reds. This is due to a groin injury suffered in the 3-2 win over Southampton in January.
During the press conference, Hürzeler admitted he is a keen admirer of Forest striker Chris Wood, who recently signed a contract extension at the City Ground. The New Zealand international has scored 14 goals in 23 Premier League games.
